Most annoying phrases spoken at a table

Ok everyone has heard them but I want to know what has someone said to you at a table that you just had to laugh at.

My favorites

big blind special- yes if you get to check the BB and hit 2 pair that is a big blind special but If you cap pre-flop and hit 2 pair with your 62os then I dont think you can call that a big blind special.

Implied odds- yes if you call my $3 bet into a $5 pot and I still have $20 in front of me you may have implied odds to call but If I push all in $20 into a $5 pot you have no implied odds.

those are my 2 favorites anyone else hear some crazy things come out of these guys mouths online or in B&M?

"I called because 9s are running hot tonight." I heard that one on the local Casino Boat once. I kid you not.

"It's all luck anyway." I love playing with these guys.

"Only on this site." Please note that players say that on EVERY poker site. The "rigged" group truly believes poker sites are rigged against them, yet they continue to play/donate. Gotta love that.

"Nice catch." I like when some dork calls my preflop raise, my flop, turn and river bets, and tells ME nice catch, because he was ahead on the turn ONLY. For example, he's got 72o and I've got AKs. The flop is QT3 rainbow (so naturally he calls my bet). The turn is his miracle 2 (so he calls again with bottom pair, of course). And then I hit my Ace on the river and he starts complaining about being rivered. I looooooove those guys.

I like sitting at any low-limit O8 table and having someone criticize my play in general. I find it quite hysterical until I tell buddy to step inside a heads-up game.

GeoffM 09-02-05 11:19 AM

I've also heard it a lot lately, and I find it hilarious (I believe Pshabi made reference to it before):

"RiverStars"

Zybomb 09-02-05 01:42 PM

Which reminds me of another great one

"You fish.....lets play heads up right now for $100"

"Ok set up the table"

" (nothing) "

Talking Poker 09-02-05 01:45 PM

If I had a nickel for every time I was challenged to heads up, and I accepted, and then the other guy backpeddled, I'd have at least.... oh..... 30 cents or so.

I dont know, those are good, but the most annoying one I could come up with probably has to be

"Hi, Im Brian"

LMAO. I hate people who think they know what they are saying.
Listen to these:

"Nice Catch" when I flopped trip aces and won a huge pot off him.

"Ouch" when some guy one with pair of 9's. LOL

"BB Special"- When it had nothing to do with BB special. The guy just wanted to say it.

" IM so Good" After he rivered his only 2 outs to win.

So funny sometimes do hear what people have to say!!!!!!!!

iwinurmoney 11-25-05 09:12 PM

i hate it when people swear at the tables. its a waste of space and they can get busted for it afterwards.

BlackCoffee 11-26-05 11:54 AM

I just hate whiners. If you lose a hand just take it like a man. I lost like 10 hands the other day on the river, finally rivered someone and 2 guys cried.

Another one is telling people they're playing badly. Isn't that the absoluety stoopiest thing you could do?

And my favorite, "Im sorry, I didnt mean to play that hand".. I could just punt them out of the casino.

I like..

When someone is chasing his 1 outer and says "I had Odds"

Zybomb 11-26-05 03:54 PM

This is another of my personal favorites

Guy calls a 1.5 pot bet with a gut shot....catches it, then says

"I felt it..."

or

"I had implied odds"

olysports 11-26-05 06:25 PM

Some of my favorites are:

"Sorry, I just have the luck of the irish on my side."

"Wow, called with 22?" of course that is when 22 hits trips.

"I guess it wasn't my time to go."

"Your gay." or "That's gay." peope say that all the time when you beat them.

Aequitas58 11-26-05 06:32 PM

Playing poker this weekend, live game at the Taj, $1/2 NL...

With three people limping ahead of me, I found myself on the button w/ 56h. I limp, and the blinds come along. I flop the 3-4-7 (rainbow) nut straight. The action goes: Checked to a MP player who bets 2x the pot and says, "I got the nuts." I call. It's heads up.

He checks the turn, I bet 1/2 pot, he calls.
He checks the river, I bet 1/2 pot again (at this point as a value bet), and he says...

"I had the nuts and I had you beat. Nice catch."

I take the pot and muck face up saying, "You had the nuts on your chin."

LOL.

Ando05 11-26-05 08:29 PM

i hate the phrase "you got lucky", i dont believe in luck while playing poker.

BDMK 11-26-05 08:30 PM

one of the many would be when a fish calls a huge postflop bet on an inside straight/3-flush chase, which he then rivers, just to explain himself: 'it was cheap'. :D

nflchad 11-26-05 09:10 PM

"OMG IM SO GLAD THAT THE FISH LEFT ALL HE DID DO WAS SUCKON ME"

Taken straight from the chat box, this one was just funny but I hear similar sentiments about being glad that poor players left all the time.

PShabi 11-28-05 10:54 PM

I just had this one and I hate it more than anything in the poker world:

unreal

drewjax 11-28-05 11:29 PM

I have GOT to learn this game. In the little I have played, I think the 08ers arent kidding. Lots of loooose play, by bad players, bad Holdem players at that.....

left68wing 11-29-05 12:10 AM

here's a good one that one of my friends told me in a game this weekend,
"I know you have me but I call anyways."

SirFWALGMan 11-29-05 10:39 AM

Fun and Painful

It's a great game. I like it alot. The players are bad. However sometimes they get lucky too like last night when someone catches a 1 out SF on the river to take most of a nice stack I had built up.

chrisash 11-29-05 12:58 PM

My favorite is : I GAVE IT TO YOU....................lol
right

Hawt 11-29-05 01:06 PM

I can't stand it when people say...
"Give me a break"
or
When they put all their money in as an underdog, then hit the flop, and get ousted on the turn or river and start whining about "what a terrible bad beat" they had.

There was this one person who, everytime he went all in (every other hand), if he was an underdog or the favorite always said "I don't accept bad beats dealer." This was PLAY money online.

chrisash 11-29-05 01:07 PM

lol
happens all the time

Reel Deal 11-29-05 03:10 PM

I can't stand it when some donk that wasn't even in the hand starts giving you crap or laughing after you take a bad beat. Had some ass on Bodog pull that crap on me, which subjected him to a half hour of being verbally harassed by yours truly... I also enjoyed taking his money. :D
