How the hell does anyone win on Stars? I quit playing there over a year ago and just played on Full Tilt. Feel free to look at my OPR stats, I can actually break even or a bit better there, but not at Stars.

Only reason I have money there is because I bought a piece of someones BAP and they paid me there even though I paid him through FT.

So far I have lost 9 coinflips in a row (WFT??) Played a SNG where I played three of 71 hands, on the third I had A7 in the BB and called a min raise against a steal, flop Axx get pushed in on by an agressive player and call to see A6, turn 6, river 6, GG Stars.

SNG two, get it all in pre with KK, he has AA.

I hate Stars and am a firm believer in the doom switch.

Fukin place.......

So you are in on it???

99, raise to 3x get two callers

Flop 6 10 2 Bet half the pot get called

turn 9

first guy shoves, I call KNOWING I am gonna see 78

GG Stars.

LOL. To help convince you further, you should check my OPR on the two sites. Negative at Stars, positive at Tilt.

:)

Sklansky says don't justify their speculative calls by handing them their implied odds on a silver platter, but in this case I can't fold either.

And FWIW if you went through what I went through between 4/30 and 5/12 (12/102 ITM -$2,433.00), you'd be saying the same thing about 'Tilt.

Me, I kept reminding myself that suffering and joy are two sides of the same coin, that the Buddha is indeed grass shoes, and regression to the mean is found by keeping to the middle path.

Who the frakk ever heard of a Zen Klingon. :D

Can't you just say you agree, that Stars hates good players and wants to give the donks a chance as to keep the rake flowing.

That's my story, to the grave.

Reel Deal 08-28-08 09:02 PM

My perception is the opposite... I run much better at Stars than Tilt. Guess I must be one of those donks.

You are aware of course, that on the average, bad players are supposed to beat good players at least 35% of the time. If good players making good plays won 85-90% of the time, there would be no money to make playing poker.

Again (repeating my mantra here) understanding the reality of the math of the game helps keep you on an even emotional keel.

And I'm with RD. My long-term record shows I do much better at 'Stars than at 'Tilt.

Invigilator 08-28-08 10:16 PM

I am up on both. Bad runs on both. First 1k on Stars. I don't see it, sorry.

juiCe[3x] 08-28-08 10:47 PM

Same here...I feel like I run a lot better on stars than on tilt, even though I know its the same.

Talking Poker 08-28-08 11:14 PM

I believe in math.

I'm crazy like that.

Invigilator 08-28-08 11:46 PM

That reminded me of waiting in line to register at the WSOP. I was behind a guy who was trying to convince his new buddy that online poker was rigged. He said that he ran an experiment on how often he won/lost coin flips, and the numbers were verrrrrry skewed.

Hard to argue with his sample of a whopping 100 hands.
