Some good news?

Take it with a grain of salt, but still.

It's something.

Every American that reads this thread and doesn’t contact their Representatives in Congress is a douchebag.

Unless you are underage. Then do NOT contact your Representative and quit gambling, especially if you want to play poker online when you are of age.

As best I can tell, this news is still based on just a rumor:

As soon as we have something a little bit more concrete - like a bill - then I am in complete agreement that we all need to act.

I stand by my statement.

Remember we are now trying to facilitate change. Do you expect our Reps to spontaneously decide to repel the UFIA? Unless we tell them it is an issue that will motivate us to change our votes, we can expect nothing from them.

Tsk, you would make them believe you might actually vote for them just to get your way, wouldnt you ;)

I have regularly written both my Senators and my Congressman - all liberal Democrats, and they have repeatedly replied (admittedly though stock form letters) that they support the UIGEA.

The truth is, with Iraq at the forefront, this is barely a blip on their radar screens, which is why I keep writing.

Akverno 02-25-07 09:43 PM

I knew there was a reason I had this guy's quote on my signature line for a while now, he's a damned good senator that's for sure.

Now if the rest of the scumbags would quit looking out for special interests (state lotto, horse racing, etc.) and propose a true comprehensive bill to regulate online gambling we may have a few extra billion dollars to use for education.

Oh well, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts.

Kurn 02-26-07 08:48 PM

Uh, Barney Frank is not now nor has he ever been a Senator.

Akverno 02-26-07 10:08 PM

Well, don't I feel like a moron. Apparently whomever posted the quote that I copied and pasted did as little research as I have. Congressmen Frank is a great representative.
