Super Bowl Mini-Rant

This has nothing to do with this specific Super Bowl, but here goes.

Why the fuck is the game on a Sunday???!!? Most people who watch the game have to get up and go to work the next day. There are 2 weeks off before the game, so there is no logical scheduling reason to not hold the game on a Saturday, which, by the way, would also make more sense for those people who travel to the game.

West Coast ftw. Get drunk, enjoy the game, get drunk more, sleep it off with plenty of time to spare.

I firget when it first started for regular season games, but it's more than tradition. The NFL is contractually obligated to NOT broadcast games on Saturdays during the bulk of the NCAA football season. For at least 35 years, there have always been Saturday games the last two weeks of the season because reguklar season college football is over and there's a market for the games.

There is no business reason to not have the big game on a Saturday.

No biggie to me this year anyway. I got laid off earlier this month and I'm doing some contract work from home, so I don't have to get up early on Monday. Just overall, it doesn't make sense.
