WSOP Registration

Some bad news...Heres my email from FTP.

Zybomb 04-07-07 01:48 PM

In other words all WSOP prize packages will be given out as cash?

If thats the case, the # of ppl who actually enter rather than keep the cash is going to be low...

On the plus side, maybe the fields for these tournaments will be somewhat realistic again

unless the sites come up with a way of realeasing funds as long as you do X and Y with said funds.

I didnt know mayhem qualified to an event:S

MAYHEM45 04-07-07 02:00 PM

Exactly. I'm going for sure, but that extra 1500 in my account sure does look pretty. Its definitely gonna be harder to use it to register now that I have the choice (bankroll shmanagement lol)

Imagine how many people are going to win a $10k seat, and then realize they could either:

-Use it to enter the WSOP Main Event
-Take the $10k cash and use it for whatever

I honestly don't know if I could bring myself to buy in for $10k if I had a choice.

eejit101 04-07-07 02:35 PM

i would be 95% sure i wouldnt go. However, if i won 2 seats.....

ChipFish 04-07-07 03:08 PM

That's exactly what I would use the $10k for. To win another seat. :D

Of course it would prob take me $13k to win that second seat.

eejit101 04-07-07 03:14 PM

lol.

9k to win that 2nd seat, 1k for drinks, smokes and various other entertainments while you do it!!

I thought Harrah's was going to pre-sell $10k lammers, and that sites ('Stars in particular) would buy up a bunch and give them to their winners, thus technically circumventing (with a wink and a nod from Harrah's) the "no 3rd party registration" rule.

MAYHEM45 04-12-07 02:00 PM

I just had a brilliant idea. I have about 700 bucks in W$ on pokerstars at the moment, I'm going to buy/win that up to $1500 and use that to register for the tournament instead. FU full tilt.

Talking Poker 04-12-07 02:04 PM

How is that a brilliant idea?

And why "FU Full Tilt" when they are simply complying with Harrah's rules? I don't get it.

MAYHEM45 04-12-07 02:22 PM

I can buy W$ at 87.5% of face value. Meaning I'm saving 187.50 By registering through pokerstars instead.

Talking Poker 04-12-07 03:45 PM

That is a BRILLIANT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't mind me being silly and not putting that together. :o

MAYHEM45 04-12-07 07:50 PM

No worries. The only catch is it has to be a televised tournament (not a problem for me, my Dad is already pumped to watch me at the final table anyway  ) and you have to wear pokerstars gear (again not a problem, they provide it afterall and their shirts are pretty good quality.)

PShabi 04-12-07 08:21 PM

They don't have those BAD-ASS  hockey jerseys do they?

MAYHEM45 04-12-07 09:54 PM

Schedule was released yesterday.

Looks like my only option is to go the first weekend if I wanna go the W$ route. :(

Talking Poker 04-12-07 11:11 PM

See you in Event #3!

Hmmmmmmm... I didn't even realize there was a HU Event. $5k is kinda steep, but I'd be lying to you if I told you I wasn't tempted.
