Donkeytest

This was on the frontpage of cardrunners this morning, take the test then post your score here.

I got a 112 while talking on the phone and MSN at the same time, pretty dumb of me, but i got called right after I clicked start on the timed test. That probably affected my score a bit. I'm interested to see what some others here get on it.

Your Complete Poker Intelligence Profile has been generated and can be accessed immediately for only $9.95.

Wonder if that complete anaylsis thing would be cool? I kinda rushed this considering I have to leave for work now... but I dont think it changed much

eejit101 04-11-07 02:56 PM

Your PokerIQ is: 107.

As its mainly a cash game question i expected that.

And ill admit i had NO CLUE as to "the reverse implied odds" question.

I also had a 116. I was hoping to be in the low to mid 120s range, to be honest.

The test took me longer than I expected - about 40 minutes to complete - not sure if that affects my score or not. I had a couple of distractions early on, and then admittedly took forever (3-4 minutes) on one question towards the end. The one where you need to figure out what all three players had.

I felt like I knew the answers to many of the questions, but I will gladly admit that some of them were VERY tough situations where I just wasn't sure which answer was better.

I'll pay for my profile and tell you guys if it's worth it.

I think this test may be pretty decent - So far, the scores posted in this thread don't surprise me... and please don't anyone take offence to that... Remember, 100 is average.

Also, I just noticed this LOL-testamonament on their site:

OK, here is what the paid results look like. I'm not exactly sure what the numbers in the graph represent.. I think the "This score is better than xx.xx% of all persons taking this test" ones are much more important.

BTW - as you can see in the graph, I got penalized for my (lack of) speed. Even without distractions, I doubt I would have been above 50% of the other test takers though... For some reason, it's way easier for me to "see" poker than it is for me to "read" poker. I found myself having to reread quite a bit as I was going through the test.

The only that that really surprises me in my results is my terrible Tournament score. I don't think there were enough tournament questions, to be honest, and I'm very surprised that I finished that poorly in that category. Meh.

I can't say my suckiness with big pairs (better than exactly 50% of the other test takers) surprises me, honestly. Conversly, check this out:
Anyway, here is the full text of my report, in case anyone else is considering purchasing theirs:

Now that I have seen , I definitely would have liked to score in the 120s (and maybe I would have, if not for the distractions/interruptions that killed my time). I still think this test is pretty accurate though.

They have had 43,546 people (and counting) take the test so far, so the 100 mean score thing should most definitely be accurate.

Cool test.

Talking Poker 04-11-07 03:58 PM

We should place bets on what JD will score.

I hope all the regulars here take this... will be very interested to see if anyone scores REALLY high - or if anyone will admit to scoring less than 100, even though that's to be expected for a lot of the less experienced players here.

GTDawg 04-11-07 04:17 PM

112

I think I push all-in too much.

melioris 04-11-07 04:46 PM

I'll burst the bubble. score of 95.

Took me just about an hour as soon as I started I had to get my ass kicked at Candyland (I even cheated and my 3.5 year old still won) and feed my 1.5 year old. For pride sake I would like to take it again, but I guess that score would be biased so I will have to live with my low score.

Alas, I suck.

2Tone 04-11-07 05:04 PM

I bombed

92, though in my defense I had to really rush the last third or so due to an upcoming meeting. But my low score does serve as an endorsement of the test. As predicted with that score, I am not beating 1/2 NL live cash games.

The analysis you get seemed pretty good, and I'll retry the test again when I have more time to see what impact that has.

Invigilator 04-11-07 05:13 PM

I feel for you...

I can't tell you how many times I was a double red or better from the Candy Kingdom and then BAM! I draw Mr. Mint. My daughter's maniacal laugh makes it feel even worse!

Zybomb 04-11-07 05:34 PM

Me and TP in the lead at 116 so far (till SJay or JD respond most likely -- eh who knows maybe not)

Out of curiousity (DONT READ IF YOU DIDNT TAKE THE TEST YET)

What did everyone put for the 118k stack T5o in the BB to the 10k CO push? I folded, but Im thinking I maybe was supposed to call with any two there

MAYHEM45 04-11-07 05:44 PM

Easy call. Anytime you have 10x the chips in your stack what the raiser is pushing, call with any two.

GTDawg 04-11-07 05:47 PM

I clicked call. Didn't even think much more about it.

Talking Poker 04-11-07 05:57 PM

I don't think we should talk about any more questions from the test (not for a few days anyway), as it would be impossible for people who haven't take it it to not apply when they read here.... but since the cat is out of the bag on this one already, I also clicked fold and I also believe that is incorrect. In my mind, this was VERY close and I almost went the other way with it. Fortunately for me, I'm not in this situation often. :o

Gordogg 04-11-07 06:34 PM

I chose call because of my stack size relative to the pushers stack. I thought for a moment that folding might be the right play because I don't want to give the shortstack a good shot at doubling up against my weak holdings. But, after thinking more about it, the reward of him being out of the tourney if he lost outweighed the risk of doubling him up.

2Tone 04-11-07 06:39 PM

I called

The key for me was that it was "late" in the tourney, when presumably the value of knocking a player out is greater than earlier. It didn't say whether doing so puts me ITM or whether that is already the case, but stack sizes seemed to justify calling with any two in this case.

Then again, I scored below 100

juiCe[3x] 04-11-07 07:00 PM

I bombed as well but almost broke 100. :p

Your PokerIQ is: 99

I was also doing stuff during this but thats not an excuse :D

JDMcNugent7 04-11-07 07:06 PM

123

test was good, a few were really close, but as I filled out a few i knew most people would get them wrong.
i actually thought i would do pretty bad on this cuz i dont really read poker i just learn mostly by playing.

pretty sick that bldswttrs got 150
i think i folded a few too much, but some of those situations were really weird - i mean so many were 4bet on the flop, and i dont remember the last time I've had a hand like that that wasn't a huge cold deck.

Robbr25 04-11-07 07:28 PM

108 for me

ChrisKim47 04-11-07 07:29 PM

I got a 112.

Nikita 04-11-07 07:47 PM

One of the lower scores, 99.
