Poker Trivia!!!

2 questions, no prizes, just for fun.

Q1 - in a HU NLHE game, you go all in preflop and are called. What is the BEST possible position you can be in with your hand vs his hand (as in what do you hold and what does he hold to give u the best possible odds)?

Q2 - HU NLHE SnG. You are ahead after the turn (4th street). However, as soon as the river comes you will only be splitting the pot at best, no matter what card is to fall. I want to know what you hold, what he holds, and the board. (there is only 1 answer)?

Q1 = AA (You) vs 23o (Opponent)

Q2 = no idea lol

Ando05 04-25-07 04:37 PM

1. AA you, and A6 other.

Ando05 04-25-07 04:38 PM

2 is kinda a hard one, thinkin about it

Talking Poker 04-25-07 04:40 PM

1. AA vs. A6 with the 6 being the same suit as one of your Aces? I'm trying to think if that's any different that 77 vs. 72 with the 2 being the same same as one of your 7s (or any number of other similar combinations), but I can't... so I'll stick with my original guess.

2. I don't understand the question. Has the river card come or not? Please rewrite that completely.

Ando05 04-25-07 04:42 PM

ya but 77 vs 72 does not put in the best position since if the board comes KKKQQ u guys both split, so AA vs a6 is def the best position there

He states the river card is of no importance, so by the turncard; you know you will be splitting the pot. So basically give him :

Talking Poker 04-25-07 04:54 PM

Correct.

For the other question, eejit, are you trying to ask this (I'll rewrite it for you a little more clearly)?

"Describe a situation where the hand that is currently winning on the turn can NEVER win the pot after the river card is dealt."

If so, here is your answer:

5:s:4:s: vs 6:d:2:h:
Board: A:c:3:c:3:s:7:s:

6 high is ahead, but can't win. The 54 has 19 outs to win (all spades (flushes) plus remaining 4s and 5s (pairs), and 6s and 2s (straights)) and everything else results in a chop.

Yes?

eejit101 04-25-07 05:20 PM

noone has got 1 right yet.

And TP your answer for 2 seems correct, however, i was told of only 1 answer being possible, and it isnt yours, so im looking for flaws, the answer i was given is...

Me 7 2
opp 65

Board 3344

melioris 04-25-07 05:22 PM

didn't badblood win his hat on this question?

eejit101 04-25-07 05:25 PM

ok, ive checked it, theres 2 answers for #2, damn the ppl who said there was 1.

Question 1 is still nowhere near answered.

THE BEST odds u can have going all in preflop vs his hand, imagine you could pick the cards out of the deck....what would u give you and him, answer is interesting i think, but very easy if u think about it.

Talking Poker 04-25-07 05:28 PM

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

!

Ando05 04-25-07 05:43 PM

is number one AA vs 22, with 22 bein the same suits as the AA?
cuz i just realized that A6 vs AA, A6 has 3 outs, but 22 here has only 2 outs, so i guess this is it isnt it?

eejit101 04-25-07 05:45 PM

no, wrong, try harder

juiCe[3x] 04-25-07 05:46 PM

AA vs AK with the K being one of the Aces suits

eejit101 04-25-07 05:49 PM

nope.

Ando05 04-25-07 05:55 PM

k let me get this straight, Q 1 are we supussed to figure out ur best % of winnin the hand, or ur least % for losing the hand

juiCe[3x] 04-25-07 05:58 PM

AA vs AA would be best % to not lose the hand =)

eejit101 04-25-07 06:02 PM

no, its "if you pick choose 2 cards for you and 2 cards for him out of the deck,w hat would they be to give u the best chance of doubling up?"

redbank09 04-25-07 06:56 PM

well, i cant double up if he only has half my stack!!

j/k

melioris 04-25-07 07:07 PM
