I personally think its a huge blow to Phoenix, since Game 5 is a home game for them, which if lost makes them have to win not only back to back games, but also the first of which on the road in San Antonio . Not to mention a bench player was lost for the top scorer on the team and another player.

As far as fair or unfair, I dunno. Rules are rules and they were violated (Of course no one buys Stoudemire's excuse of "checking in", although a funny and good attempt!), but it makes me think that dirty teams can just send bench players in an attempt to get the other team riled up and cause havok... it seems kind of fucked up how The Spurs started everything and the Suns are now going to suffer

Popovich exploited the rule because he knew it would work that close to the end of the game. Same thing Riley did in the series against the Knicks however long ago.

The NBA severly crippled the Suns when both players took two steps and then went back without throwing a punch or getting involved. The rule says "bench area" whatever the hell that means. You could easily argue that both the Suns players were in the vicinity of the bench away from action and no outrageous action was taken by them.

And, if you wanna have some fun with it, check out Tim Duncan in the 2nd quarter after that dunk and the two players get tangled up and a spurs player goes to the floor. Timmy boy takes a stroll out past the three point line and just sorta stands there. Gets pulled back by another spur and neery a word is spoken about that.

I hope the suns try something in front of the spurs bench at some point tonight. Even if they don't it should be a good one to watch.

The suns got what they deserved. Don't blame the spurs or the league just because the suns are stupid.

I love how they play defense and you got teams like DAL and PHO who cry about it. Horry might be wearing ring #7 by the end of the year.
