Interesting juxtaposition of two items reported on WEEI (Sports Talk radio)

Yesterday, the Dennis and Callahan Show reported some sportswriter harping that there will be a huge race issue surrounding this case.

Today, they report the scathing comments by Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) basically hinting he wants Vick to burn in Hell.

Senator Byrd, who is 89, is nicknamed "Sheets" by other Senators, because in his youth he was in the KKK.

It will be very sad if this turns into a "race card" debate. I'm quite sure people would be equally disgusted by this if it were Yao Ming or Tom Brady or Sergio Garcia.

It shouldn't be, but don't underestimate Reverend Al and Jesse.
