party poker
I know I said I wouldnt post here but I need to know this 1st.
on a different forum someone brought to my attention that party poker was not on this commission list that they gave me a link to. I called party poker to find out why and they gave me a link to one that thier on. The question is you guys use party poker alot I was wondering how much do you trust it? have you ever had any problems withdrawing? I was really worried when I didnt see them on this list because almost every other site is on there including pokerstars. that is the web adress where the list is, just go to permit holders and you won't see party poker anywhere, do you trust them? |
i wouldnt be that worried about it. party isnt there, but neither are pokerroom or pacific.
i think that there are a couple of different comissions that do the auditing, but i really think that it is all a scam. look at one of their news articles about golden palace. it seems to me that they essentially extorted charitable donations out of golden palace because of the streaker advertising that golden palace does. it doesnt seem to make sense to me. i would feel pretty safe at any of the big sites, including party. they would have a serious shitstorm on their hands if they somehow started to have problems. i think that their 70k players could find somewhere else to play pretty quickly. |
I havent had problems with party and you shouldnt worry about it. Party is the biggest site and they wouldnt do anything to hurt that.
|
You don't need to fear Party... Fear groups of players cheating you there, sure... but don't fear the site itself. It would be a TERRIBLE idea for them to run anything less than a clean game. They make WAY too much money by keeping things on the up and up.

ok
by players cheating you do you mean like them talking on AOL or the phone and trying to drive up pots there expecting to most likely win?
|
there are different ways to do it, but basically they revolve around playing multiple hands in the same game. if they communicate by im or phone, that works perfectly.
there are different ways to collude as well. the obvious one is sandwiching one player by raising and re-raising around him. that is effective, but very obvious to someone that is paying attention. the more subtle way is freezing the action so that the un-knowing player does not get the correct odds on his drawing hands, and the colluders only play made hands. this way they lose the max, it isnt suspicious, and when they hit the draw they get paid the minimum for it. i wouldnt really worry about this at the low limit tables. it really is a way to see monsters in the closet, when none are there. if you ever get the feelingthat a few of the players at the table know what each other have at all times, leave he table, and report it to party. i believe that they will check it out, and online there are very concrete ways to figure out if collusion i soccurring. |
to be honest i've colluded in online poker, so i wouldn't be surprised it there were a lot of people doing it. it's a good way to be profitable. i haven't done it in a while, but i'll tell you when i was a newbie it definatly helped me.
|
by the way we didn't do it by phone or aim, we did it by one of the most advanced online colluding systems...it automatically posted what my colluding friend had to me, and posted my "outs" and the odds.
|
i dont doubt that the colluders have an edge, but i think that worrying about colluders at the lower limits is almost pointless.
the players that collude (no offense junyun) at these limits are probably inferior players, who are looking for the magic solution to the game. it does not mean that you cant make money in the game if there are colluders in it. it may be a little bi tharder, but if you play superior holdings to the colluders, then in the end you should do fine. they have to know how to get the most money out of you, and that goes far beyond just knowing what their cards are, and most of these players are not sophisticated enough to do that. |
Wow... that sounds pretty serious. Do you mind explaining this more? How did it work? Software you both run that scrapes each of your screens and shares your hands with each other?
I would think this could be hugely profitable - especially depending on what you mean by it figuring out the odds.... do you mean between your hand and his, or your hand, his, and all the other "random" hands? Or was it even more sophisticated than that? |
Online Poker site managers and security, would love to know your secret and system, and you could probably earn more money by selling this 'online colluding system' who wouldnt....am not saying your lying but I doubt very much that a system can be used at this pressent time without drawing attention from the sites security. Jim. |
All you would need is some interface between two machines running pokertracker. If you have two people running the software and each computer knew what the other people had you would have a big advantage if you were playing against one or two more people. Pokertracker already figures pot odds and outs and it would be more accurate if it knew two more of the cards that were already taken. I'm not a computer programmer but I'm guessing it wouldn't be too tough to piggy back on the existing software and simply feed the additional card info into the calculations. Now if someone had a DSL and separate cable line and maybe separate addresses etc. they could do this right at home. But like I said I'm not a computer engineer and I'm not aware of all the software that sites might run to try and stop this kinda thing.

Eddo, colluders could definately gain a huge edge in Omaha, but in Hold'em the effect is minimal. So, uh, give your msn name already LOL :D .
|
Wait a second. I use Poker Tracker and I didn't know it ould figure out "outs." Are you sure, or is there some very cool functionality I don't know about?
|
I might be a little confused I am talking about Poker Office's live tracker screen. Not sure if this is the same thing as poker tracker. Poker Office will tell you outs, odds of hitting different hands and the pot odds. It also keeps track of the players you are playing against and lets you know how they play preflop, post flop, etc.
If you have this info supplemented with another user of three users info you would have a big advantage. |
I've never heard of Poker Office, but I'm sure it's not the same thing as Poker Tracker.
|
You can download Poker Office from downloads.com. Just type poker into the search area for Windows. It keeps track of everything you could possibly want to keep track of. It has two different sections the main screen that keeps track of your overall stats and the stats of other players, your win loss, # of times you get certain hands, how you play preflop, post flop, how much money you have won on certain types of draws, I could go on forever.
And the live tracker screen that keeps track of all your current cards, odds, outs, and the people you are currently playing against. Including how they bet, hands and money won, etc. You can download a free demo that is good for like 200 hands and then you need to cough up $70. |
pokercharts
pokercharts is nice, Its not as good as pokertracker or pokeroffice but its free. You got to do everything manual but since its free who can complain?

They changed their licensing from Kahnawake to the Government of Gibralter a few weeks back. This applies to the Party skins as well.
It seems that their servers are still located at the Kahnawake data center in Quebec. |
