FWIW though, I specifically emailed Full Tilt a while back and asked if I could allow a friend to play on my account, and I was very clearly told YES, that this would be ok.

I guess it depends who the "friend" is.

The nature of the technology makes it an interesting question. You certainly couldn't switch players at a casino because a player had to leave.
