Would you call with low PP UTG

... in a table that raises PF about 1 in 3 hands?

The way I see it you wanna set or get out on the flop, and you can't really call a PF raise here. So it's 67% that you get to see a flop where 12% of the time you're going to hit, so that's 8% of the time. But if you do hit, a hidden set can usually make you a lot of money. What do you think the right move is?

Raise it up yourself, assuming you are playing 6max. Ive never played full ring so I dont really know.

6max, most of the time I raise every pocket pair. If the table is extremely tough and 3bets every hand, I fold 22-55 because I certainly won't be able to play the hand when I do get 3bet (of course, I'll be sitting out the next hand because of table selection).

Full ring, which I am dabbling in again, I fold 22-77 UTG unless there is a ton of retards at the table, then I limp. This is all cash of course. I don't play tournaments.

Are we assuming NL?

hackers238 11-29-07 05:44 PM

Yeah sorry, I was vague

Assume NL Hold 'em in the beginning of a 1 table SNG; so 8-9 players at the table, everyone has about average stack.

I hadn't thought about Raising to isolate, which is interesting, but probably not quite as good in a 9 player situation.

MAYHEM45 11-29-07 05:53 PM

Fold everything but AA and KK UTG early in an sng.

Zybomb 11-29-07 05:57 PM

Full ring with deep stacks and a few idiots I like limp/calling any pair from EP. 6 max I like raising anytime I enter

Talking Poker 11-29-07 06:15 PM

Yeah, one table SNG is TOTALLY different than a cash game, which I think is what most people here were assuming.
