I listen to a combo of everything, but i especially like women singing as it seems to have a calming affect.

More often than not, I have a movie on while I'm playing. When I want music, I just turn on XM - usually Flight 26 or one of the other alternative type stations.

When playing live I used to bring my ipod (mostly hip hop, with a mix of some alternative and rock selections) but I found that i didn't pay as much attention to the game as I did without one and it affected my reads. I now play without music

I find that I play the easier stuff during poker. Keeping calm keeps me from playing too many hands (patience).

Depends on what i am playing and what stage its in.

I find Dark side of the moon to be great when deep in a tourney.

I listen to mostly rock and pop. with some classical thrown in when i get tilty.

early stages of a tourney it'll usually be tag's trance, and then I'll switch up to either beat blender or groove salad.

for cash games I'll either have the tv on something or take in some soma - depends on what I want.

live - nothing.

I usually start off with hip hop/rap to pump me up. Cypress Hill, Snoop, Beastie Boys are examples.

Then transition to more mellow stuff so I'm not totally on the edge in the middle of a session after I'm bound to take a few beats. bob dylan, jack johnson, weezer type stuff.

Classical, Romantic, 20th century classical or anything without voices.
Sometimes japanese music (j-pop, j-rock).
