Enducing a call

Just recently I was playing a MTT online where I raised with AA to 600 from 3rd position and was called by the CO.

The FLOP came [Qd 6s 4c] and I bet out 950

He takes a moment to think and then The CO types in the chat box "55 no good huh?"

Ok so he's told me his hand (supposedly anyway) so he's obviously about to fold....

Anyway responses you think we can have that might do anything to change his mind?

Respond in the chat box

"AK"
"55? lol are you serious?"
"Got AA"
"Now it is but I got a ton of outs"
"Umm do you see the Queen and the 6 on board?"

or anything else clever??? .... or is it a pointless mission since he's folding almost definitely?

The only one that I could see to have any chance of changing his mind is "Got AA", but I agree...I doubt hell call

Two things:

1. When someone had a big decision to make (especially calling all in) and the other player types ANYTHING in the chat box, he is almost always very strong and trying to get a call. At least that's what I've found to be true (barring some specific exceptions where there is a lot of chat history already). If people disagree with that, say so. I'm curious.

2. I can not BELIEVE how many online players are not aware of #1.

I think it's safe to say your villain is folding here no matter what, so it doesn't hurt to chat if you want. Without him being all in and there still being action in the hand, he can't continue if he's telling the truth. So he's definitely folding. But if there is a 5% chance you can talk him into a call, why not, right?

I don't really like any of your suggestions though. I'd prefer:

"Shove and find out."
"I always have Aces when I raise."
"55 is the nuts."

Crap like that.

If you want to just quickly make up a hand you are claiming to have, I prefer all of these over what you suggested:
"QQ" (you must be lying)
"44" (you're probably lying)
"JJ" (if true, maybe he can push you off your hand)

But without you being all in and him telling you his hand, he's folding. So it doesn't matter.

random abuse for 2 reasons:

1. chat retards are annoying and you will feel better for doing it
2. chat retards take the game personally and you might irk them into doing something stupid

in this spot, "stop wasting my time fuckhead and fold"

lightfungus 05-05-08 08:39 AM

Agree with Boobie and Sjay here, antagonizing them is the best line I think. Make it personal.

A nicely time fuckhead/fuckface might not only get a call, but will tilt him in later hands too.
"OMG I HAD TO FOLD AND HE CALLED ME A FUCKFACE. I WILL EAT YOUR BABIES"

maybe its just me

my personal favorite

"do you hear that sound? that is my dick on the keyboard"

not sure what it means, but it works every time

fold like the little girl you are

fold wuss

Don't know why I didn't mention this and stuck with the theme of the OP's suggestions, but everyone is absolutely right.

In fact, I'd almost surely say, "Just fold already." Adding in a "fuckface" can't hurt though. Maybe a "nh, fuckface."

I kinda like the ring to that.

Heh, the wonders of anonymous internet gaming.

Go ahead and try that at your next live game, Zy.

Personally, I'd stick to the tried and true "Sorry John, I don't remember".

jhill3535 05-06-08 02:12 AM

If I am going so type anything, it is usually "just fold already" followed with "I'll show" and then if they do fold MUCK!!

sjay2k 05-06-08 03:58 AM

Also nobody has pointed that it's spelt "inducing".

Fildy 05-06-08 04:11 AM

we dont take kindly to yer type round these parts with your linguisticies and grammarages

Zybomb 05-06-08 05:09 AM

Oh yea?

sjay2k 05-06-08 06:41 AM

Yes, "spelt" is correct.

"Spelled" is just another arbitrary American affectation.

Reel Deal 05-06-08 08:51 AM

Sure, but it just sounds incredibly gay to say it that way...

Zybomb 05-06-08 02:30 PM

Spelt is wheat
