online table seat location

Does anyone try to get the same seat when you play at a cash table? As for myself, I always like to sit in seat #1, The game has to be really loose if i sit in any other seat.

Why do you care what seat you are in online?

I usually choose my seats based on how many tables I have open at once, to make sure there is no overlap.

gotmoojuice 04-28-05 07:28 PM

why?

Well to me, by sitting in the first seat, I seem to be in a position to say check and test the players out, or if I wanna check raise.

kkirk1329 04-28-05 07:34 PM

doesnt that all depend on where the button is?

Talking Poker 04-28-05 07:35 PM

Does the button not move on the tables where you play? :D

kkirk1329 04-28-05 07:37 PM

lol exactly what i was thinking :D :D :D

ChipFish 04-28-05 07:38 PM

I like the 2 or 3 seat in live full-table games.
There's a good reason for this, anyone know why?

kkirk1329 04-28-05 07:40 PM

can see the whole table?....hit on the dealer?

PShabi 04-28-05 07:42 PM

I like 3 and/or 7 because you can easily every player at the table from those seats without having to look around anyone. (live play, obviously)

bdawg31 04-28-05 09:04 PM

i like to get loose, passive players to my immediate right so i can raise and isolate them.

gotmoojuice 04-28-05 09:39 PM

uhhh

most of the games I play there is no button, but in omaha hilo I still like the #1 seat

lightfungus 04-28-05 11:04 PM

lol...

I choose my table by avg pot size 7 or 12 because they are me lucky numbers, haha.

And i choose my seat so im closer to the big blind...

nutbag 04-29-05 01:53 AM

Chip, Do you choose the two or three seat because you see the flop first, or possible the cards in the dealers hand if they're lazy about holding the deck tight? Seeing the flop first isn't great for me, cause I usually want to watch the players on the flop, but that's my only guess. Don't keep me in suspense any longer, please.

Aequitas58 04-29-05 03:48 AM

Most dealers are right-handed. If they are sloppy, the 2 or 3 seat would give you the best vantage point to see the cards as they're dealt to the players. You wouldn't be able to see anything specific, but it's fairly easy to tell if the card was paint or not.

kkirk1329 04-29-05 06:40 AM

what games do youu play?

Talking Poker 04-29-05 09:23 AM

Did you guys miss the word "online" in the Subject? I don't think it really matters if the computer dealer is righty or lefty - at least not on my screen

SirFWALGMan 04-29-05 09:25 AM

Weird.

I am not attached to a seat, but I like the 3 and 7 too. Just cool being at the "head" of the table? I dunno. Usually I prefer the 7's.

Aequitas58 04-29-05 05:40 PM

LOL. Go back and read Chip's post which I responded to. Once you've done that, read it again, carefully. Now, tell me... what single word in his post would make me think he's referring to a live game?

...

Exactly.
