Best times (days) to play?

I find that Sunday afternoon is the best time to log on and make some $$$. I'm not sure if that's because it is church day and people tend to feel generous, or because everyone online is simply hungover and unable to play their best.

During the early morning 10-12 (GMT) I tend to meet alot of middle aged women bored at home.

I have seen alot about playing on Friday nights and the 15th and 30th of the month since thats when most people get paid and wire funds to their accounts. I can't say that I know this to be true, but it does make sense.

Nice thinking. The Friday nights irk me though, players may be drunk, but usually so am I :D.

brings new meaning to the game of poker.....well i am on the east coast of the us and i find 9pm-12am any day of the week to be glorious. seems like the all the crazy west coast gamblers are coming online and europe is at the tail end of their sessions. use this to try and get a picture of where people are at during their day.

Friday night, West Coast time

Here's where the time difference really works for me. I'm sitting down at 9, 9:30, feeling fresh and ready to play. Meanwhile, it's past midnight on the East Coast and they are getting progressively more tired/drunk.

Jeez - why aren't I winning more?

I like to play after football games, especially monday night football, when the gamblers are coming to recoup their losses.

i like playing between 10 or 11 at night and 2 or 3 in the morning (i live on the east coast)

the most important factor for me is the sheer number of people playing then. you can always find the game that you are looking for, whereas at certain times of day your game selection is much more limited.

GeoffM 10-29-04 09:25 AM

Now that I am awake, yeah I have played at 2 in the morning before. I had my brother with me, since I had been drinking. He was my "advisor", in case I got out of hand or fell out of my chair. I remember a very loose sit-n-go, and coming in second.

I think playing at night if the best. You can usually find weaker player (getting off work) and even drunk players as well looking to give away some of their saving :)

i usually play from about midnight to 3-4 a.m.

Time of day has made a huge difference for me. I'm a begginer/intermediate player and used to live on the west coast and play nights, and do moderately well. I moved to seoul to "teach" english and play in the afternoons(3-5am West Coast) in the mornings and have had to completely adjust my style. When I was in L.A., afternoons or late nights fit my bordering on overagressive style perfectly.

eddo31 11-01-04 07:19 AM

i think that this is the same as adjusting your game depending upon time of day in a b&m. the daytime players are generally a lot tighter than the night/weekend people, so you have to take advantage of that knowledge. fridays nights online you can get some seriously screwy stuff going on, what with the high number of drunks out there

GeoffM 11-01-04 08:09 AM

Yeah, during the day it tends to be moreso people that are possibly unemployed (if they are from your area) and use poker to try to make it their living. I'll stick to my weekend play.
