Butt Raped on Party

Shoulda known better to go onto party, but I have a friend who was playing low limit and I was at the same table and had success so when he left, I decided to take my $100 in winnings to a higher limit.

6 handed $200 NL, very first hand at this table, in the cutoff. Dealt AsAc.
$6 to me, I make it $30. BB calls.

FLOP: Ad8c3h. BB bets $20. I raise to $80. BB calls.
TURN: 9h. BB bets $20. I raise all in. BB calls.
RIVER: 2h. Pot pushes to BB with 8h4h.

I'm pissed at this point, but with those kind of loose calls, I will eventually have all my money back and then some, so I reload.

The very next hand after I'm back, I'm dealt QTo.
I call a raise of $4, 3 players in pot, and the same clown who took my last stack is in the hand.

FLOP: QT4. Checked to me, I bet $20. Clown raises to $40, I re-raise to $60, clown moves all in. I call.
TURN: 9
RIVER: 8

Pot moves to clown with his J7.

2 hands played, $400 dropped. Gotta love these loose calls. :(

That hurts.

Did you stick around?

I guess you gotta face it

Thats the worst thing I have heard about in quite a while around here. Dang man, sorry about that.

PShabi 08-22-05 02:11 PM

Yeah, calling a raise with QTo is pretty brutal.

Zybomb 08-22-05 02:21 PM

At a table with players who appear to be this loose, and will double you up when you hit, I see no problem with calling a minimum raise with QTo

greenbuckets 08-22-05 06:17 PM

I will usually call a small raise with QTo...on second thought, I probably won't anymore...don't want to run into anymore J7's.

eejit101 08-22-05 07:28 PM

Id call a minimum raise with it, id raise minimum if it was suited. otherwise unless its heads up id throw it.

lightfungus 08-22-05 07:38 PM

I call that occasionally. Not very often for 4 bucks you are correct on that.

But the Cubs suck.

greenbuckets 08-22-05 11:41 PM

If the BB is $2, calling $4 is the minimum raise you can call. If the BB was $1, I would not call $4. It's all relative.

lightfungus 08-23-05 03:37 PM

Oh, sorry i thought you were at 100NL. Then i support that call definately if you felt like it.

junYUN 08-23-05 08:20 PM

"long term"

hehe

just thought i'd throw that in here

johnp158 08-26-05 02:41 AM

Really. You do this often? Got any stats on how much you've made doing this?
