event #2 of wcoop

anyone else watching this? almost at final table. Latley I have become big fan of omaha so this is real interesting to watch.

while we on subject really looking forward to the heads up torney.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 01:36 AM

I haven't watched much of this one, but I really enjoy watching these events at the end. The final tables are top notch play.

I'm mad at myself for not registering for the heads up tourney in time. I was debating on whether or not to play it in, not thinking that it would fill up (duh), and before I knew it, it was too late...

6 max PLHE on Wednesday will be my next event. I'm really looking forward to that one

What is this?

BrianSwa 09-06-05 01:58 AM

hi

live (gonna spell this wrong) commentary.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 02:16 AM

That is wicked cool. And I mean WICKED cool.

I see the link now on

The delay isn't bad at all, actually...

BrianSwa 09-06-05 02:20 AM

nope

yea not bad at all its like a couple seconds no big deal. I enjoy listening to these 2 guys. This final table is very good, I have to say one thing "HOW COOL IS POKERSTARS SUPPORT"?

they are amazing and so friendly.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 02:46 AM

Geoff should be listening to this. I don't even like Omaha and I'm hooked.

BrianSwa 09-06-05 02:48 AM

agreed

yea I cant stop listening to it either, I really should be sleeping but this is just way to good. That guy played that short stack really nice, and that pokermillion guy is rocking it.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 02:56 AM

I can't believe that other dude called all in with just a weak flush draw when the short stack guy had less than one orbit left in him. Terrible terrible play, IMO.

I mean, I'm not reading this wrong or anything here, am I? This was just a terrible, terrible call, right Omaha guys? Geoff?

Here was the hand:

BrianSwa 09-06-05 03:02 AM

cool

dealing time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BrianSwa 09-06-05 03:18 AM

yikes

the short stack didnt want to do a 3 way deal by chip size because the big stack would get more then 1st prize.

they played out until top 2 and split 50/50 and are playing for the braclet and 10k.

each gets about 95k garantee.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 03:23 AM

Ths chop formula they use is ridiculous.

Obviously.

BrianSwa 09-06-05 03:27 AM

oh

support just said it was a mistake but was too late to fix. Anyway im off to bed was great final table.

I plan on doing these next year or at least trying to qualify for it, good luck on yours TP in case I dont talk to u until u play.

Talking Poker 09-06-05 03:28 AM

Actually, Lee Jones is now saying he made a mistake in his calculations, forgetting to take out the 3rd place money from the prize pool. I figured that's how he calculated it, but thought they were jsut using some stupid formula.

Had he done it right, I'll bet they would have taken the deal.

BrianSwa 09-06-05 03:29 AM

yea

yea the shortstack would of jumped all over that but oh well mistakes happen.

he still made alot of money.

GeoffM 09-06-05 09:00 AM

Huh?

Talking Poker 09-06-05 12:41 PM

There was a live audio broadcast of the Omaha event last night. It was really good listening....

Hey, do me a favor and scroll up to the HH I posted and tell me if that call was as terrible as it looks to me, or if I'm missing something. This was PLO, btw.

BlibbityBlabbity 09-06-05 01:28 PM

That was a REALLY bad call. He did have a draw but even heads u there was too much of a chance he was dominated (worst case being a Kx in suit). As it turned out he did have outs to the flush, but even then that is a big gamble at a final table when every place increases the payouts.

IMO, the raise preflop was a pretty bad move with the same logic. He was out of position with a hand you really want to see a cheap flop with (as it will either hit or leave you with nothing). The big raise "almost" commits him and he should have a pretty good idea that millions will call with any reasonable hand and may get all the chips in preflop with anything better than average.

My guess is that there wasn't much limping going on with millions in such a chip lead?
