Toronto Home Game

For those in the Toronto Area (or willing to Travel) Royal York and Bloor, is my major intersection of note.
I will be starting a home game.... (every 3-5 weeks)...
PM me your e-mail and phone number if you're interested.
First one at End of November, or Beginning of December.

if i end up moving to canada, ill swing on by.

of course, that is a very remote possibility, but i want to keep my options open.

Yeah, there's a lot of talk of many Americans moving north of the border thanks to our marijuana laws.....er I mean Bush re-elections. ChipFish, it sounds intriguing, but you are way off where I live. I'm out in Courtice now, east of Oshawa, and it is extremely difficult for me to make it out your way. I am trying to make a move to the Big Smoke next Summer/Fall, so then might be a good time for me to frequent.

I was just in Toronto last week - Sherbourne and... hmmm.... yeah, can't seem to remembr the cross street. It's right down town though.

Next time I'm up (no idea when that will be), maybe we can get a game together.

ChipFish 11-10-04 04:43 PM

Let me know...
But the only time I want to see a $1400 pot is if I have the nuts, got it?
;)

Talking Poker 11-10-04 05:57 PM

Yes, I'm getting used to that sort of thing!

GeoffM 11-11-04 07:48 AM

LMAO!

TP, you were likely at Sherbourne and Bloor. That is the outskirts of downtown, maybe 2 minute subway right to the heart of the city.

do they have any laws to sidestep for playing in canada?

GeoffM 11-11-04 01:00 PM

Yes, it's illegal to play in Canada, LOL. Just like the States though, who's going to know? Actually, I think you're allowed to play $5 games here, but that is never followed.

Funny story, my buddy goes to a Pool Hall in Scarborough (just east of Toronto), and they usually run after-hours poker games. One night a cop goes and bangs on the door. So while the owner steps outside to speak to him, everyone slowly, 1 by 1, gets up and leaves the table with their cash. Don't know how they didn't get caught.

dude i work right at royal york and bloor....all the lads at my work dabble in a fine game of poker from time to time.... what times would these games be at?

Tilter 11-26-04 03:32 AM

Im currently living @ Bloor and Spadina. Not sure where Royal York is. I could always get a few people to come along as well.

ChipFish 11-26-04 04:18 AM

Most likely Saturday evenings (7 to 8ish start)
However, it looks like my weekends are shot until after the new year so I'll
be able to go from there.... PM me an e-mail so I can just send out one e-mail to a list as opposed to tracking people down...

Let me know if you've got a game going and I will try and make it to yours also.

ChipFish 11-26-04 04:22 AM

Get a map Tilter!
Third last SUBWAY Stop towards the west. By Car probably 20 minutes by TTC about the same (10 minutes west and 3 minute bus ride)

Send me your e-mail so I can add it to my list....
This way I can just send out one e-mail to everyone and the first 10 people to respond are in.

See above post.... now looking to the new year.
