Poker Cruises

Are there any other Poker cruises besides the PartyPoker Million one?

I have decided that there would be no better way to get my wife further behind my poker playing than bringing her along on a poker cruise that I won into playing poker.... :D

PartyPoker one looks ok, just wondering if there were any others to choose from...

I did see that there were "CardPlayer Cruises" but they just seem like seminars, lessons and games, not a big tourney. If I am going to do this, I want to get into a big tourney at the same time...TP's sucess has me intrigued to say the least...

just a random question - wut limits do u genereally play B.B. ?

I am all over the place ;) ....currently I am starting to play 50c/$1 O8B, but if this is in reference to tourney buyins....

I really haven't played tourneys for more than $1-$5 buyins as of yet (other than the first couple of TP events). I have been wanting to try a number (50-100) of them to see how I do, but I have started O8B now so I want to get a decent sample size there first and plug some holes.

For this I would want to play some low SNG or MTT sattelites and try to parlay into the finals. I do pretty well in MTTs and SNGs, so I'm thinking I would have a shot and more importantly it would be a fun challenge (which is really why I play poker). PartyPoker's setup seemed to be reasonable for this approach.

I would prefer a site with a better tourney structure though...

Here's what I would do: (note: I fully expect to be divorced in the future ;) )

There are plenty of gambling cruises that you can buy a trip on. They have other perks that the wife would definitely enjloy. Now, at my house, I handle all the finances. That means wifey doesn't see credit card statements and such.

So, I'd just book myself and the wifey one of those trips and ;) MAYBE ;) play it off like I won it.

It's not really lying if it doesn't hurt anybody. :D

Win yourself a seat to the Poker Stars tourney at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas (or is it Bermuda?). I'e heardfrom a few different people these past few days that this is hands down the best tourney on the tour, and that Stars really takes care of their qualifiers, giving everyone a personalized monogramed duffle bag FULL of goodies...

I'm going to try to get there next year, whenever that may be (I need to look into it).

Last year's tourney was in the Bahamas and it was in January.

Then I guess I have some work to do when I get home. Ayone know if satellites are running yet?

And did you go, BB?

BlibbityBlabbity 09-28-05 11:49 AM

No I didn't go....heres a link to this years site...

Yeah John Gale qualified last yr on stars and won the PCA.

JDMcNugent7 09-28-05 05:05 PM

on that website it talks about satellites running but i dont see any - does anybody else see them ?

omahilo 09-28-05 05:07 PM

The PCA isnt till January so pokerstars doesnt have sats yet.

badblood44 09-29-05 08:56 AM

Not sure who the BB was directed at. I'll answer anyway. :)

I did not go, but my good friend is the pokerstars blogger () and this past January was his first assignment.

I think what you've done w/Aruba is THE way to do things, win a vacation/entry into major tournament. Perhaps I'll concentrate on satellites to that tourney next year.

BlibbityBlabbity 09-29-05 09:00 AM

:o Oops, I didn't even notice that BadBlood also starts with BB, lol...I was wondering why you were asking if I went, TP :o
