Major downtime...

Ok, that sucked.

From about 1 AM last night until maybe 5-10 minutes ago, this site was down. Down, down, down, down, down...

Turns out my host decided to physically MOVE. They gave notice to the guy that I host with, but he didn't give me any notice. And then everything got screwed up, ans the 2-3 hours of planned downtime turnbed into 20 hours of bullshit.

What a mess.

Fortunately, we are good to go now.

Oh, and ironically, at pretty much the very momeny that this site came back up, I busted out of my $650 Bahamas satellite in 32nd place, just short of the "get your money back" bubble.

I played one hand badly, then went card dead, and then went stupid and pushed with JT to seal my fate. Granted, I was in late position and just wanted to pick up the blinds to the a little bit of the pressure off, but the SB woke up with AK and that was the end of me.

*sigh*

Stupid Rogue.

Oh well, at least the forum is back up.

Nikita 12-03-05 10:44 PM

I was thinking along the same lines, except I thought it might have something to do with me using Firefox. I actually opened IE *shudder* to try to get to the site.

JDMcNugent7 12-03-05 10:49 PM

wuts wrong with Internet Explorer ? It's all i ever use.

Talking Poker 12-04-05 12:21 AM

Other than the 407,000 (give or take) security holes, nothing at all!

I actually use IE most of the time too - CAREFULLY - because I want to see what most web surfers are seeing. Firefox messes up some basic formatting here and there. Most people's wouldn't even notice, but I do...

I deleted all my cookies for you TP

JDMcNugent7 12-04-05 12:41 AM

rookette22 12-04-05 12:45 AM

Yes! Unless you're on Fear Factor stop using IE  #1 Bug Browser

In words "Change your bullshit browser to Firefox." Version 1.5 just came out so if you download that and some cool plug-ins (fasterfox, adblock) you will find your internet venture can be much less annoying.

To anyone interested in switching to Firefox, Paul Phillips (the pro poker player) wrote a great article about it on his blog ...

Then you need to get some plug-ins, good news, Paul Phillips already has some picked out for you and a quick install planned...

For more detailed information about the plugins you are installing check out his page.

Yup, everyone above pretty much said it about Firefox. I can't live without my tabbed browsing and mouse gestures (for JDMcNugent7 this means i can navigate all with my mouse, I no longer have to hit the back, refresh buttons etc. I can just do it with the way I move my mouse)

Hawt 12-04-05 07:30 AM

What plug-in has mouse gestures? That seems pretty sweet.

Nikita 12-04-05 07:39 AM

Here's the link directly to the download page for you Hawt.
