Poker League (not the one on stars)
Well, I'm moving again. Going back to college in Idaho where gambling isn't allowed. A few weeks back I read an article about starting a poker league in poker player newsletter if I remember right. Basically many states do not allow gambling, therefore you start a league and get sponsors from bars and such to allow for a prize pool and if it goes well some of these leagues give out wsop entrants and such at their year end tournament. I was wondering if anyone was involved with something like this, and if so the paperwork I would need to fill out (other then corporate filings, thank god for accounting school), to limit liability and such. Thanks.

I had looked into this one at one point. It looks like there are none in Idaho at the moment. They might be able to give you some insight into what the prospects for it are or if it THAT illegal in Idaho that it would be risking to much to do it.

I remember that that the reason that they can avoid the "law" so to speak because none of the member put up any of their own money. The bars put up the prizes of the contest. I need to contact the amateur poker league. Thanks for the info.
