PokerXFactor

This looks pretty sweet if you ask me. I saw some discussion of it elsewhere and checked out the demo video and it sounds like it would be an amazing tool for working on tournament play. If you're too lazy to click the link, johnnybax and sheets, 2 successful online pros, will be producing flash videos of some of their tournaments and offering commentary.

Check it out. A negative is that it's a little pricey for me. It seems like it would pay for itself pretty quickly though. One thing I'm not sure about is whether your subscription is cancelled if you miss a month. It sounds like it is, and that would really blow.

Opinions?

MAYHEM45 03-12-06 08:02 PM

149 bucks? No thanks.

Talking Poker 03-12-06 08:06 PM

Brilliant idea (unless the poker sites get pissed that they are showing video of their sites).

But no, I will not be paying for this. If it was $20, I may give it a whirl out of curiosity, but that's about it.

johnp158 03-12-06 08:20 PM

As far as I understand, they won't be showing video of the poker sites. They convert hand histories to their own flash format.

Aequitas58 03-12-06 08:24 PM

$20? That's pretty cheap, IMO.

Bax and sheets are two of the best online professionals playing today, and this is an opportunity to tap into years of their experience. You literally watch them win tournaments and cripple cash games as they describe what why and how. And that's only worth $20 to you? gg cheapskate.

Where else are you going to get hands-on advice and strategy from two high caliber players at this price? Even the "Camp Hullmuths" are expensive. What was Annie Duke charging Ben Affleck for his lessons? $1k / each? It was something ridiculous... but it's irrelevant because

Bax

shits

on

her.

As you remember, Cliff Josephy (Bax) won a bracelet at last year's WSOP. ... Or was it two? :) And sheets? He sick himself - not to mention bascially starting "gank."

Yet I digress. I'll be joining - I'm hoping they don't reconsider and RAISE the price.

Talking Poker 03-12-06 08:48 PM

Valid points, for sure.

I guess maybe I'm just naive, but I honestly don't think I'd learn "that much." I'm very much looking forward to your review someday. Who knows? Maybe it will change my mind.

Talking Poker 03-12-06 08:50 PM

You are correct. I should have checked out their site a bit more before posting. :o

Good demo videos.

Talking Poker 03-12-06 09:06 PM

I've looked the site over some more........

I'm impressed.

BrianSwa 03-12-06 09:09 PM

agreed

I agree after watching the demo video I think its very very well put together, I wont be joining them because dont think anything could help my poker game but I could see someone more serious about poker really looking into this.

Anyway thats just my 2 cents.

Boobie Lover 03-12-06 10:41 PM

$149 + $25 monthly after that. No thanks. I'll stick to sucking thank you very much.

Aequitas58 03-12-06 10:47 PM

That's a better reason not to join. Unlike you, I do not have proven MTT results, so a site like this appeals highly to me. For what they (claim) are providing, I would consider a *much* higher fee.

Zybomb 03-12-06 11:30 PM

checked out their demos -- the entire SnG tourny shown wasnt too informative -- he basically played tight, bet his strong hands and got paid off lovely with quads and hit alot of flops.

quiz was interesting, i did a few things differently, but overall nothin too much

I personally am not in a hurry to shell out $$ for this

johnp158 03-12-06 11:52 PM

I'm pretty sure the demos weren't really meant to be very instructional. Just a demonstration of the format. In fact, on anotehr board I saw a post by mindwise that pretty much said "you shouldn't really play like I did in the quiz."

I'm still pretty intrigued by the whole thing.

MAYHEM45 03-12-06 11:57 PM

That quiz made me laugh for hours.

Talking Poker 03-13-06 12:55 AM

Was wondering about that.... because I disagreed with a number of his plays. You would think they would want to at least get that example just right.

JDMcNugent7 03-13-06 09:55 PM

That quiz was so ridiculous - i was honestly thinkin about buying that thing until i took the quiz - Mindwise played a number of hands pretty horrible.

Aequitas58 03-13-06 11:10 PM

I agree w/ you on this point, because it's hard to dispute. Really though - "Bax and sheets" is the draw.

johnp158 03-14-06 01:02 AM

Right, but I was reading the forum where a bunch of discussion took place about this, and a guy basically said, "Yeah I took the quiz and apparently I did a bunch of things wrong," and mindwise answered and said "DO NOT play like I did on the quiz, it was just an example of the format."

Zybomb 03-14-06 02:25 AM

I don't get though, why include something which contrasts your advice in the demo for your product???

johnp158 03-14-06 11:44 AM

Good question.

JDMcNugent7 03-14-06 08:08 PM

lol why would they give an example quiz of something NOT to play like- that play was seriously so horrible
they should def. take that off the site if they want anyone but idiots buying their program.
