Last night was one of those nights.....

I am learning about the swings. I have said before, I don't have a huge bankroll. Thanksgiving night, I had a HUGE night (for me). I won $130 bucks. Next day/night, I lost 70. Slowly built back up the next few days until I had doubled the $130 I had won by Monday night. Last night, I couldn't buy a hand. When I had a pocket pair, I never flopped a set and at least three times, someone had a higher pocket pair. Just one of those nights. I dropped close to $100. Got back up this morning, put on my coffee, and played a few hands. Won a little of it back before work....

Man, I've had a rough week. It's the game we play.

Where are you in Florida?

This past weekend was really good to me. But, between yesterday and today, I dropped close to $200.

Sucks when AQ loses to A8 when 2 aces hit the flop.

Sucks when AQ loses to T5 when there's an Ace and a 5 on the flop.

--> And yes, I did raise both hands pre-flop.

I can't say that I'm playing badly, because I'm not... I don't lose many hands, but when I do lose, they seem to be expensive.

All's well that ends well I guess - back to battle.

If you feel yourself on a downswing early, do you think it is best to get out, and try later on or the next day; or should you try to grind it out and get back on track?? I find it hard to stop if I am losing early. I have only had one or two really horrible days.

It's all one big session, so what I did on the previous hand(s) has nothing to do with how I'm playing this hand. I quit when I'm tired or don't want to play, but my earnings really don't have much say.

I find it hard to stop as well.

I've read and heard this lots of places, but I think it's just human nature to look at it as separate sessions.

In no-limit, there have been multiple occasions where I've lost 1,2 even 3 buy-ins before I've turned things around to make a profit for the evening.

I usually only quit when I'm getting tired, not because I'm losing.

Just to follow up, last night I recouped about 60% of my loss.
