Limit players -- question

The club where I play at is starting a weekly 20/40 game with a halfkill

What exactly is that?

A 'kill' game means when a player wins two games in a row (usually with a minimum pot requirement), the next hand is double stakes.

I just signd up on UltimateBet today and noticed these games. I was wondering what "kill" meant myself. What a coincidence.

I had never heard of it, so was interested, myself, in finding out.
(Google lover;))

Hope this helps you.

Sounds like an interesting twist. I think I'll incorperate it into my home game.

Kills have good and bad points
One it get's the pots up up up there let's you get a feel for playing at the next level too.
There are some bad points to consider
1) at the dollar in WA you need to win 2 pots in a row to be a kill
say you win the first pot and it's 16 bucks maybe half of it yours so you won 8 bucks after the rake 7 after jackpot cut maybe 6 so your up 6 bucks on a hand you wagered 8 to win
now for the kill to take place there must be 30 dollars in the pot when you win, now say you play the hand heads up and you both put 15 dollars into the pot and you win 3 dollars comes out on rake 1 dollar for jackpot that puts you up 11 dollars. Well on a kill pot you must post 6 dollars no matter what position you are in and if you get dealt 7 2 offsuit and someone preflop raises to 12 i'm going to fold so if my math is right after winning 2 hands in a row and posting your kill blind you have won a total of 11 dollars a wins a win though and that's the WORST possible outcome there was a kill on the 4/8 monday night making the limit 8/16 guy won over 400 bucks in one hand
kills can be fun if ya got the stones to play em. personally I don't like it if ppl wanna play 6 12 or 8 16 they should use over buttons.
