Harrington on Hold 'Em Volume III

Comes out on May 31st. Anybody know what this is going to deal with exactly?

It's just a huge compilation of hand quizzes. My inititial reaction to this news is meh, I didnt care for alot of the hand quizzes in the first two books. I could pick out a few that were pretty flawed in my opinion and alot of them were just plain boring. I'm sure I will be wrong once I read it however, and will be buying it as soon as it comes out anyway :D

I quite like the hand quizzes. There have been some things I've disagreed with, but I always assumed that was my inexperience talking, since he's the expert.

IMO, overall..... he tends to suggest play that is a bit riskier than I like when it comes to making big calls based entirely on pot odds. It's like I value that whole "once you are out of chips, your tourney is over" thing than he does.

Volumes I and II are gold though (the best two NL tourney books ever written, IMO), so I am sure I will be picking up Volume III as well.

Hell, maybe we'll have some contests and give away some free copies around here :)

I concur so far

My wife bought me vol. I and II for my birthday. She gave them to me a little early so I am halfway thru the first 1. I am finding it to be richly informative. I too like the hand quizzes. They are helping me think more about each action a little deeper. And I don't see how that can be a bad thing.

And about calling purely on pot odds. Sometimes I feel that your beat your beat. A good player will give you the correct odds to draw to dead outs when he has the nuts. That's IMO anyway on why decision making can't be one dimensional.

I surely will buy vol. III and I appreciate you guys suggesting the series to me.
