What software should i have

As far as what you guys are playing with to help improve your game, what extra stuff do you use or recommend .Boobie mentioned poker tracker. Is that the best? Is that all you use ? Are there tricks to it? Anyone that could shed some light to this would be an amazing help. Also are they tough to use etc. Thanks in advance.

Software that I use.

Must Haves
PokerTracker
PokerAceHUD

For Donkaments
PokerStove
SNG Power Tools

Search this site and you'll find all sorts of good info on . Yes, it's a must have for sure.

As for tips on how to use it, download it and play with it - it comes with a free 1000 hand trial.

Also, they have an extensive FAQ (included with the software) and their own forums too.

I don't use anything for tourneys. Maybe I should give these a look. How useful do they feel these are, compared to how useful PT is for cash games, for example?

If you play a lot of SNGs, SNG Power Tools is a really important tool to have. It will tell if pushing or calling an all-in at the later stages of an SNG is a correct move or not. If you haven't played around with it before, I'm sure you'll be surprised at what is a correct move and what isn't in some situations. The price is a little steep though at $79, so if you aren't an SNG junkie, you probably won't need it.

PokerStove just makes it easier to compute person's ranges of hands compared to yours. It is free, and I like it a bunch.

I'm surprised you'd have time to use PokerStove in the midst of an actual SNG. Isn't that more of an away-from-the-tables program?

Boobie Lover 07-08-06 01:33 AM

Yeah, I don't use it during action. I just play around with it afterwards.

PunkyChikn 07-08-06 01:43 AM

Okay, that's what I figured. Do you use Power Tools while playing, or is that away from the table too?

Boobie Lover 07-08-06 01:59 AM

Most of the time it is just reflection upon my play after the SNG and try to find if I missed some value and/or made a dumb call.
