sattys out to WCOOP

satellites to the WCOOP are now out.

I've never played in these events or tried to qualify so I'm not sure jsut how soft they are.

The 4 NL tournies I want to play for sure look to cost around 5k. how dumb is it to buy directly in to all of these, except the ME (2.6k) - which I'll Try to satty into.

does that seem like a decent plan or should i be trying to satty into more?

melioris 07-31-06 09:26 PM

the simple answer is if your winrate for the time invested in the sattys is more than buyin, just save yourself the time and money and buyin drectly. The trick to this calculation is making a reasonable estimation as to how long/how many sattys take.

edit-although in the movie of your life it would be more dramatic if you won a satty. Unless you are thinking of turning the movie into some sort of bad-ass production and you can have a sweet headshot and say directly to the camera something like "Qualifiers are for bitches" and then cut to you winning it all.

2nd edit- I got to stop drinking so much.

Boom! Headshot!

Mel's post is exactly right... If your win rate is higher playing cash game than these satellites, you should probably stick to the cash games and just buy in directly. If you DO go with this approach, be smart and go buy the W$ from CashmanBrian.com or something (this is assuming eejit's site isn't done by the WCOOP - I know it was about 2 weeks from going live a few months ago). That way, you'll save yourself a bunch of cash - pretty much all of the tourney juice, I'd imagine.

guess I need to get good at rebuys, as most of the sats seem to be them....

3 NLHE events (4 if you count the rebuy one) and at least one of every other game. Well done PokerStars. Hopefully the WSOP will listen to Daniel N. next year and come up with a schedule that looks more like this.

Oh it's happening! Now if he can only find somebody willing to buy all his T$....

eejit101 08-01-06 12:03 PM

oh who knows!

I was speaking to an owner of a current one, not CMB, and realised id overlooked one HUGE thing about this idea.

SO im getting that sorted, then were going back to it.

MAYHEM45 08-01-06 01:04 PM

Having a bankroll?

PShabi 08-01-06 01:10 PM

I played in 1 last year. $3 rebuys I think. I won a seat, so yeah, they're soft.

PShabi 08-01-06 01:13 PM

Like "how to obtain enough T$ to actually meet demand?" Wow, never brought that one up before!!!!!

I say stick to selling the cash/tourney game idea. That's money in the motherfucking bank.

Eejit, seriously, you are now the laughing stock of this forum. Are you going to demonstrate your complete lack of personal pride on a daily basis, and continue to post here? Why not just hit the road?

You've got your own forum don't you?

Oh please, do tell.

I'd love to know what this is, and if it's something that I told you about 20 times when you were interrogating me that one night, or if it's something that I actually hadn't thought of.

I tried a $11 DS to the NLHE HU match WCOOP event today...

I lose HU vs a guy in the 1st SNG...

those arent too tough, just didnt beat him HU. 3 seats to the HU WCOOP event is given in the one I played, which isnt too bad.

Im going to continue to play the sats and try to take one down eventually.
