I played in two of the "added on" events. $1000 each. No bracelets.

The first one was oh-so-much-fun. 20 minutes into the tourney and the jackass to my right finally shows up. He sits down and is immediately bitching about not having enough leg room. Keep in mind, I'm 6'5" and this is when we played at Binions, and not at the Rio. It was tight. He proceeds to raise toe 175 (25/50 blinds) for his first three hands, picking up the blinds. On hand #4, he does it again from the button, and I repop him from the SB with KK. He reraises, and I decide to just call. The flop comes 662, and I check raise him all in. He calls and flips up AA, and I'm out. 25 minutes.

Yeah, that sucked.

I did much better the next day, including laying down a flopped set of 6s face up on the table to all sorts of banter from the rest of the table (no straight or flushes - I had like the 3rd nuts)... until my opponent showed his flopped set of Aces. That may be the only time I've ever laid down a set in a spot like that, and to this day, I say that's the best laydown I ever made.
