I read this a couple of weeks ago.

I actually think this is a good thing for the WSOP - at least for the Main Event. I mean, say they reduced ONLY the top two payouts last year from $12 and $6 million to $10 and $5 million... That's $3 million more that could be distributed in the prize pool without really even affecting those top two players. I mean $5 and $10 million is still a shit ton of money.

Note that this doesn't say they are going to pay a higher percentage of the field... only that they are redistributing HOW they pay those who do cash. Using last year's M.E. numbers, the Top 27 would have received less, but the 846 players who cashed below them would have received significantly more money.

I think it's a good thing.
