This is a decent idea, and one that I think I could do. When I started the forum, it was wide open. I eventually made it private because we had SO MANY lurkers and I was hoping to get more of those people to register. Also, when certain douchebags go and get themselves banned, I don't think they should be able to have full access to the site any more, with the only difference being that they can no longer post.

You guys make valid points though. And I guess most of the other big poker forums are wide open, aren't they?

I think it might make the most sence to open up the "All Things Poker" (5), "More Things Poker" (3) and "Admin" (1) sections, leaving only the Multimedia (2) and Off Topic (2) sections private. That way, people can access all the poker talk they want, but if they want to download videos (not that people have been posting many videos lately) or go through the off topic shennanigans, they'll need to register for the site.

I don't have to break it down like that, btw... that would just be easiest. We may want to keep "Railbird" private too, for example.

Meh, I don't know. I'm back and forth on this, but it's definitely worth more thought. Thanks.
