From what I've read on RGP, you need a big roll to play rebuy tournaments. Some have even said to be prepared to buy-in 7-8 times. This seems a little expensive for a $10 tournament... but then again, you wanna give it a shot, so got for it. The add-on is almost mandatory, from what I've heard.
You might do really well, and take off from the beginning, but when does that ever happen? Not for me, at least.
If I were you, I would play a few cheap (non-rebuy) tournaments and then play a more expensive one.
