The reason for the SPAM forum is to keep the other sections clean. I used to move spam posted in the wrong sections into there, but got tired of doing that, so now - for the most part - when people spam, it gets deleted and they get banned.

I've implemented software that takes care of most of this manually, which has made things a lot easier for me and the mods.

That said, the SPAM section is still there for legitimate poker offers - note my Full Tilt and Cake poker rakeback threads.

What I don't allow is people to spam other forums or anything else that competes with this site (including my referral links). In other words, if you want someone to go sign up at Ultimate Bet through you, obviously I'd rather them sign up through me, so I'd prefer for you to not post anything like that, and would likely just delete it. I'm not trying to be a jerk about this, but these is an expense associated with running this site (hosting, forum software, contests I kick money into, etc, etc, etc.), so I appreciate the little bit of income I am able to make from it from time to time to help offset those costs.

There are exceptions, of course... There have been times where people have PM'd me, asking for permission to post something, usually offering me a peice of whatever piece they are getting for the deal. I've been open to this in the past, but honestly, it hasn't really worked out and I tend to get ripped off more often than not.

Hopefully that explains it pretty well.

In summary - use your best judgement or PM me with the details. But if you offer is something that I could be offering, generally I'd prefer for people to just sign up through me instead of through you (especially with you being a new member here).

Make sense?

P.S. Good call not taking akajeff's advice.
