I haven't seen the episode, but I've complained about people talking about a hand in progress in online games. It's a serious issue that needs to be addressed right away at the table - and anyone at the table can call for a ruling on this.
Usually when it's happened online I simply tell the person it's a no no and they back off - seems to be just a lack of knowledge, but there's no excuse for a pro to do it.
In this case - without actually seeing it - the first thing is likely to be a warning (tournament floor people seem pretty soft at first), but after that the only other recourse is a rail penalty.
I remember mike the mouth getting a penalty for swearing in a tournament (it took a lot to get him the penalty I thought). He kept swearing at the floor guy and by the time he was done Mike was out for 30 minutes or something... I think the penalties came down in 5 minute increments if I remember right.
