disclaimer: This is more of a stream of consciousness response to TP and Raistlins recent posts.
------------------------------------------------
TP and Raistlin return to a key point that can easily be lost sight of. This is a fundamentally adaptive game. We have to be open to new views on strategy and tactics.
However, it is also a game that requires a certain amount of courage and confidence. We can very easily get into a "I am right" stance on a particular point.
I also don't mind the idea of posting (responding) on situations that a person does not have much experience in. I like bouncing my understanding off of others to see if it sticks. If I am really uncertain, I'll ask a question. (lord knows I have jumped into hand discussions this way)
It's all about approach. Are the people in question...

trying to learn?

being open minded?

not acting like big meannies?

working with both questions and answers in the spirit of productive mutual exchange?
With regards to Herschel's previous posts; I recall some very thought provoking discussions about the difference between cg play and tournament play in terms of maximizing value. But, it's supper time so I won't fish for that nuggent of evidence.
