I don't know if I'd be considered a "legal analyst" but I will be graduating from law school in 2 1/2 months. With that said, I don't know anything about international laws especially when they deal w/ cybercrimes. In this situation, someone trying to illegally gain access to someone else's private account certainly qualifies as a cybercrime.
This is less a question of what laws apply than how much PartyPoker will police these activities. Our laws don't apply simply because the company is offshore, and therefore we are out of US jurisdiction.
One would think that Party would protect its "regulars," as I suspect Chip, TP, and myself are. But, sadly, it doesn't seem like they give a shit. This isn't the first time I've gotten something like this via email.
Within the past week, I've gotten password requests for my PayPal account, Neteller, and Ebay. What the fuck.
