I never said never, for starters.

But usually he smooth calls on the turn to allow me to bet again on the river.

This is not a hard and fast rule or anything, but that's how I see most people play it most of the time (and how I would play it in position like this). Especially with 75. 55 and 65 and even A5 are more likely, but still, all of those hands combined make up a small percentage of his range, IMO.

Sometimes I'll run into a set (22, 44 most likely) or two pair here, but usually those guys are happy to get to showdown and don't turn their hands into bluffs like this guy did. (Yes, I know I called him with a worse hand, but that really only happens when I have exactly an overpair)

That's my thinking anyway.
