Crazy, isn't it?

I don't think I've had quite that much variance over 600 hands, but I did lose 4 buy ins in 50 hands a couple of months ago, remember? That was freaking brutal.

Today ended up pretty ugly too: I played about 500 hands of 5/10 NL, peaking at up about $1800 and finishing up maybe $500. Then I played another 500ish hands of 3/6, and finished the DAY down about $2500 overall... That's a healthy 5 buy in drop right there, and like you, no tilt. I think my table selection wasn't optimal, but more than that, I was just running into monsters, and my opponents couldn't miss a draw.

I think people who say 10 buy ins is enough to be rolled for a game are crazy (6 max NL, anyway). I think 20 should be the bare minimum, and I think 50 is a lot better.
