Default Poker Pace

Pace, as in how fast you play.
Multiple times I have tried pacing my play.
In other words, when it is my turn
I count to 5, 1-2-3-4-5, then I make my play.
I repeat this for every time it is my turn,
no mater if I am folding or playing.
I find that it gets me in a good rhythm and
I actually play better. Plus there is an added benefit of pissing off fast players (people who want to play as fast as possible).
Big hands, where it is obvious that I have a big
decision in front of me (like when someone goes all in, in NL)
I take more than the 5, but for limit or for normal play,
I find that setting a pace helps.
Any opinions? Has anyone tried the same thing or something similar?
