Default Good Advice.

Thanks for posting that article TP.

Definitely a rule I have been violating by playing the 25 Max NL tables lately, but I see the logic. Although I have not been hit hard by any wild swings in the last month, I can see those winds blowing all around me.

Recent advice that TP and others gave me about not going into a NL cash game with anything less than the max buy-in kept me from going bust a few nights a go. I was able to more than double up on a single hand about an hour in. 15 minutes later I took a nasty beat that brought me back down to around my initial buy-in. Had I gone in with $10 at the start( ), I would not have had the cushioning to absorb the later beat.

I feel really comfortable with the level of play at 25 Max, but I am definitely going to check out the .05 / .10 game this weekend.

I know I am emotionally prepared for one of those wild downward swings that will come in NL, but my bankroll is not as "mature" as I am.

TP's post entitled "Bitches..." under Beats and Brags is a good companion post for illustrating how things can go south FAST!
