Default De La Hoya/Forbes Line

Obviously at 13:1 De La Hoya is way too expensive to put a wager on the outcome of this fight, but the over/under is a good one. It's listed at 9.5 rounds and -230 for the over

I think laying 2.3:1 on this is a solid bet... Forbes has only 9 KOs in almost 40 fights so we dont really have to worry about a Forbes KO of De La Hoya and Forbes also has a solid chin; having never been knocked down (or out) or hurt in any of his previous contests. He's also a slippery defensive fighter and combined this with De La Hoya's lack of major activity I think this fight could easily go to a decision. De La Hoya is also not a one punch KO fighter (especially at the higher weights he now fights at) and if he were to KO Forbes itd likely be in the late rounds anyway.

The only downside to this wager is that Forbes glory days and the majority of his fights were at 130 pounds, the jr lightweight limit. This contest is taking place at a contested weight of 150 lbs, a full 20lbs higher than Forbes prime and De La Hoya is looking for a specular fight to setup a big money rematch with Mayweather later this year... still im gunna lay the odds

On a related note. On Showtime tonight they are rebroadcasting all 3 fights in the Israel Vasquez/ Rafael Marquez trilogy. Anyone whos a boxing fan (or appreciates good toe to toe action) should watch record whatever all three of these fights. EXCELLENT
