both teams had "A" teams with each missing one or two through injuries, but all in all best teams available (so since Spain is so much deeper than US they were less affected by the one missing player). Spain also was going on a 39 game unbeaten streak (tying the world record) and a 15 game win streak (a new world record). This win for the US is the 3rd best result in the history of US soccer.
I had the kiddies in daycare, my wife is out of town, so I watched the game with a bunch of 25 year olds that I play soccer with. When the final whistle blew the bike messenger kid dumped out his bag of drugs on the table and the real party started. I haven't seen that many different colored pills in a long time, and finally I found where to get high quality bud in this town. I had to get out of there to pick up the kids and be a coherent Dad so I couldn't partake, but damn, it sure feels good to get this win.
