"Keaton always said, 'I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him.' Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is ... Phil Ivey."

Step 1: Make massive multi-million dollar prop bets you will win a bracelet Step 2: Win one, then, for good measure, win another Step 3: Strike fear into the rest of the field of the Main Event by storming into the second place with nearly 15m chips and counting. Unbelievable run.

That's only a $2 million payday. That's nothing compared to what he made on that first bracelet.

Seriously, the guy is the sickest poker player ever. I hear that he was scheduled to be at a featured table a few days ago and threw a fit about it (not sure why), so they actually traded out the table for another one. Everyone at his table was pissed, since that cost them $5k each of endorsement crap, etc.... so he of course gave them each $5k and told them he would give them each another $50k if he won the Main Event. Or so I heard. Would love confirmation on that one. |
