Default Freeroll Info Read

Ok this has seriously gotten out of control.

This freeroll has gotten the site some new members as of recently, which is good... more traffic is always good to have. But the amount of people who have actually contributed something to this forum is extremely low.

Now I'm not including everyone... we've gotten some new members who've started some good discussions and are adding to the poker community here -- which Im sure is what TP had in mind when he set this freeroll up.

Then there are others who have flooded this forum the past few weeks with pointless babble, just to get their post count up -- and it's a pain in the ass to sift through all this nonsense and see that there's only one serious discussion goin on

Now I have no say around here -- but here's what I say should go into effect, and TP can comment if he likes this and make it happen if he does.

There is no longer an official post count necessary to enter this freeroll. Old posters who are active should have no problem participating if they'd like.

As for new posters, they will only be allowed if TP thinks they have added something to this community. To give a quick example Studiopet started a good discussion which turned out a lot of good responses. I'd say to allow him with 15 posts over someone who has made 50 rambling posts about nothing.

So 50 posts is no longer the req, adding something to this community is, so don't waste your time with nonsense....

This is not official, cause once again I have no say around here -- but it's what I suggest -- TP please comment..... if you agree sticky this thread so people know

Edit: I sticky'd it myself bc I dont want it to get lost in the 2 line responses to ten posts.... so change that last part to unstick this if you dont like it...lol

I agree 100% that is supercool zybomb wow awesome, you are teh smart.

Seriously, this shit is warping my mind. I second this.

Another idea I threw around in my head was to have all of the regulars nominate one person they think is deserving of entry, and have TP make the final vote (although I think the majority of us would vote for the same new guy, you know who I'm talking about).

There is more than just one new guy I think, there are a few that deserve to play, that should stick around and should contribute and help the forum grow... then there are a whole lot who arent....

Set up a "Retard Freeroll," enter them all in it, the winner plays in the real freeroll.

Game over.

Are there really people out there who need to go thru the time and effort of posting etc., to try to get in a $100 freeroll?? Wow. There has to be a better way to get some free money.

Default Donkeys

Ya, the donkeys are ANNNNNOOYYYING.. I think TP's ban button finger is hurting. I think in some ways the amount of posts to get into the freeroll causes this and maybe the donkeys would stop if like was suggested, the number of posts requirement was removed and it was anyone giving to the site. Of course TP would have to make a list of people giving to the site or he would get 3000 private messages a day "Am I in dude, cmon, am I .. I contributed!"

1) i think TP and Zy should start clicking the ban button. no point in letting some 'ppl' stick around for no good reason. you see an obvious post pumper or a pass whore, just ban them. that's it.

2) also, i still believe the pass to this and all future pvt forum events should only be given out by PM and only to those who TP deems qualified. no passes must EVER be posted on the forum in public. i just went thru yet another such pvt freeroll last nite, and, no surprise, it was no fun. despite the best of intentions, and the fact that the event was organized by good ppl from a good site, the pass was (sigh) posted in public. 500-plus idiots crashed it, most started just going allin every hand, and what's the friggin' purpose in all of that? if i wanted to play slots, i'd go elsewhere...lol

I'm new, and, yes I am trying to get 50 posts. But just because I'm doing that doesn't mean I'm not contributing!

I'm good with this idea. I hate to "change the rules" but it's not really changing the rules. I said 50 quality posts, and these one liner nothing posts ARE NOT QUALITY POSTS.

Edit: And for the record, I am and will continue to ban the dead weight to get things back under conrol...

If I can't find my place to put in around 20 more quality posts in the next three days, is it just tough luck for the free roll? I will continue to post here but I have a huge test on tuesday.

You are assuming your first 30 posts were all "quality." I don't know, because I haven't specifically checked and I can't keep all the new usernames straight yet.

But, one of two things wil happen:

1. If you've contributed (and not just FAKE contributed) and added to the community, then I'll let you play.

2. If you haven't - REGARDLES OF POST COUNT, even if you are up to 51 or 75 or 10 - then I won't let you play.

It's that simple. Good posts will get people in. Useless posts will keep them out.
