no dude PLO is all about the nuts... the key to O8B is getting value out of your low hands. I'll talk a lot more about it when i write the article this weekend

I hope that wasn't directed at me....
In this instance it certainly seems like this was a Limit Holdem Question.... I am responding to the original poster. So if that was directed at me JohnBaker, go back, shake your head around a bit and re-read the original post. ![]() |

O8B value from low?
I disagree entirely. How many times do you try to get value out of your A2 only to see someone else also have it and also take high on you. I'd much rather have the top high hand and pound away at the pot any day of the week. Of course, If I have the nut low I will simply call all the way, but only when I have a shot at the high, and if I don't have a shot at high, I want to make sure at least 3 other people are in the hand so I can at least (usually) get my bets back. If there are only 3 guys left and they are pounding the pot, I let him take his A2 money and save mine for another time.

i agree. you have to play o8b cautiously when you only have a low. because the prevailing advice out there suggests that your starting hand requirements usually are aimed at the low, you are often going to get quartered.
