Perfect Republican.
If you think Democrats are any less BS, you're delusional. I wrote my legislators. All democrats about the UIGEA. The one who didn't reply with total BS (Sen Jack Reed), replied how proud he was to protect us from internet gambling. The only thing stupider than voting Republican is voting Democratic.

![]() You know how there is always apathy regarding the elections, voter turnout is only at like 60% on a presidential election. I can understand that sentiment in Alaska. The State of Alaska has voted for a Republican President in all but one of the elections since obtaining statehood (of all the Dems we could vote for, it was LBJ). We had the trifecta going for a long time. Both Senators and the Rep from Alaska are Republican and until Frank Murkowski stepped down to run for Governor (and appointed his daughter as Senator) all three were extremely senior. For a time we had almost as much power in congress as most of the "large" states. Republican Governor, Republican Senators & Representative, and we always vote for a republican president. I haven't decided how I'm going to vote, but I have a feeling that it won't matter anyway (other than local elections). |

![]() OK. Like me. I live in RI (have for the past 5 years) and for 33 years before that in MA. Same thing there. Always Democrats. But in some ways that gives us a unique opportunity to help in some way frame the political debate. The way I look at it, the only way my vote in a Presidential election makes any sense is if it helps send a message to either or both political parties. If you want to be free to BOTH play online poker AND keep all of your winnings, vote Libertarian. It won't change where your or my State's electoral votes go, but maybe it'll filter down to the level where the losing party says "why can't we win here?" Just remember, if there was never a Norman Thomas (Depression era Socialist Party candidate), FDR would never have conceived of The New Deal. 3rd party votes are not wasted.

We had record turnout for all of the democratic caucuses, if Obama wins the Dem's nod it will be a very interesting election.

Sad that an elected official has forgotten that our government was not set up to protect us from ourselves, but was set up to protect us from the government.

Jack Reed is an unrepentant Communist. He makes Teddy Kennedy and Bill Frist look like libertarians by comparison.
