They did however score 28 and win by 2 TDs against the team with leagues best record.....
On a semi related note, I am going to the game next Monday!! (thread hijack). First time in Foxboro, I have heard the fans are brutal though

I can't speak to the fans since I haven't been to a game there since long before the new stadium was built. Like all Boston area venues, you can't buy beer in the stands and you can't buy beer anywhere in the stadium after half time, so the wild ones have to do the lion's share of their drinking pregame.
Easily the most significant game of the NFL season season. Winner most likely has a bye and home field throughout, loser at best plays an extra game on the road and has no home games. Looking forward to seeing Favre evicted from the record books!

Jets' Jim Leonhard out for the season. Pats' Stephen Neal out for the season. Leonhard will be harder to replace. Advantage Pats.

Most embarrassing professional sporting event of any kind home or away that i have ever attended in my life. Most fans were cool and gave us shit in a non dickhead way and shared stories of going to Yankee stadium w Sox jerseys and having mustard thrown at them. lol. There goes a home game - embarrassing performance

For the most part in both NY and Boston, the fans respect the rivalry and go about it in a reasonable way. It also helps that Kraft has a zero tolerance policy towards dickheadedness. Give your seats to a friend who brings a friend who does something out of line and you lose your seats, your money, they re-sell them, and you and the perpetrators and all your families are banned for like 15 generations
The one thing you may have missed not watching on TV was that Ryan lived up to his rep for sucking at challenges. Why challenge the spot in the 1st quarter when you're going for it on 4th down anyway? And then he doesn't challenge a TD that had some non-zero chance of being overturned. OTOH, your guys aren't out of it by a long shot, IF they can turn a negative into a positive. Now its time for Rex to earn his pay. I was almost more happy to see that overrated nimrod Favre get booted out the record book.

Right now, after the humiliation of the Jets and the 33-0 halftime lead against the Bears (said to have a better D than the Jets), I'm tempted to say that 14-1 on "Not New England" is a sucker bet.
