If you can't stand the swings, you should be playing at lower limits. You are going to have those types of hands and bad beats to go along with them. You can be a solid player and run into some bad luck and leave empty handed. If you are not comfortable pushing in your entire stack, you should move to a limit where if/when you lose, you do not cripple yourself.

Man i lost about 1/2 my roll losing Q's to aces and later a set of 3's to a higher set, but thank god those damn Q's just paid me back in full, when i tripled up at a crazy $1/2 table with them, I got all $120 before the flop against A10 and 55, lol
thank god i won. now im back to where i was before the tough losses ![]() |

![]() you are playing 1/2 NL???? with what bankroll? please say 2k please say 2k, in a thread about disapline dont you think we should actully show disapline? I mean im no one to preach about disapline but not even I would sit at 1/2 NL without at least 2k, I have before but the swings are just toooo harsh at that level to risk it all. You built this bankroll from pretty much nothing I would hate to see you lose it on one bad sitting. I mean look at your 1st sentence " man I lost about 1/2 my roll" if you were playing within your banroll that sentence would of never came out of your mouth or hand. It would be more like "man I lost 1/10 th of my bankroll hey no big deal I can handle that swing" you keep heading down this road you are gonna STORMSWA YOU'RE BANKROLL Last edited by BrianSwa; 09-08-05 at 04:30 AM. |

lol ya i play $1/2 and .50/$1 6max with about $1000. I dont think It's too too horrible. I can generally handle myself pretty well now, i never really go on tilt. but the bad beats do hurt, but where theres more money to lose theres usually more money to win, and im willing to take that chance. It's worked so far.
![]() I know its risky but playing much lower just isnt fun. |
