Default Gov...

Wow, Gov… A bit off the mark?

Your post was perfect, though not really an argument on your behalf. The conclusion I believe you leaped to, was that “poker” was the issue, or possibly, the blanket I put all my statements under? Something I blame our nonconforming society on? To the contrary, we all take responsibility for our own actions, or shall I say, “should” take responsibility…

Since you missed the boat, by a considerable margin, I will try and clear it up so that you can understand. Poker, by no means is the problem here regardless of the low level mentality of the game/players you try imply, or maybe excuse its actions. Quite funny in regard to your conspiracy theories, considering you are yourself applying a generalization to poker. Let’s not get lost, or apply the blame to a medium. The issue is the lack of respect some people have, and in my rather brief comment, passing said courtesies to our children. Let’s not look farther than that.

In the end, I find people use “agenda” to further their extremist conspiracy theories…

Finally, in regard to the blanket statement of poker deriving from “our solders,” who drank, smoked, cursed”. I believe poker has origins dating back to the 1600’s, which is long before “we” had any soldiers. I am putting myself out on a limb by assuming that it was an intellectual game, with little cursing, getting drunk and smoking like a chimney… ;-)

Your post was perfect! You proved my point with utmost precision, “dude”.

Lol…

Heh I thought you would like that I just wanted to see how you reacted
I hate jerks who babble in online chat most of the time I turn it off
In Live poker rooms it's amazing how 90 percent of the ppl are perfect gentlemen and ladies. The other 10 percent act like jerks but have to keep somekind of composure or risk getting tossed out.

Which is why I like your "Hiding behind the Computer thing"
I was challenged to a fight by a guy in Mass. the other day like WTF????????
You know for a fact he was dead serious but it's amazing what 20 bucks will do to a person.
His exact words were If we were in a live room right now I'd kick your ass........................... (But you know he would not because he'd be banned or security would come) (A good comparison would be Beer Muscles well you just came up with the idea of Computer Muscles) Good Job!!!!!!!!!!

And you proved that you are a true gentleman by not calling me names for my aggressive post touche.

With respect to JD and his chat, I saw him once at a 200NL table where be both sat coincidentally and in the text box all I saw was:

JDpokerstar(or whatever his name is): LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL
JDpokerstar: LOL

Yeah, so I could see how he might grate on peoples nerves and start a little flame war now and then

I must admit:

I rocked that style back at lower limits as well. You can imagine I was pretty good at it. Matter of fact, I'm bored as a mofo 3-tabling right now. So, the next table I open up, I'm going nuts.

One more thing like you said "I"m not sure" but this would be something I have to look at My uncle Johns reader for.
But you are close on the EXACT ORGIN of poker dating to 1600 possibly the 1700's

But I think poker itself is a mixing of an old roman card game played with 16 or so cards mixed with a french game consisting of more cards when I get home tonight I'll post the exact details. But to be exact I was correct when i said soldiers because The roman game was created by soldiers and the french game was created by soldiers but untill i can post the exact facts we'll leave it at that.

Does anyone else have some info on the origin of poker ?
