Look, I am not trying to be the politically correct police, but wtf is with the “gay” insult? It may be true that this guy fucks other guys, but that has nothing to do with the fact that he is a cheat and deserves to have his money confiscated.
I am all for hating, but lets hate for the right reasons. |

![]() Here here! Seems like a decent forum, except for the fact that some members keep bashing the gay community. I saw the same thing happen on Stars while playing with a few of this forum's members and now I see it yet again. I think it should come from the boss himself if he's willing to put up with such comments then the members won't mind saying such things. When will you all learn that it is not right to say things like that in reference to gay people? |

Was this not very sarcastic post of mine not clear enough?
Do I need to post a link to that in every thread when someone says something is "gay?" Or should I simply start banning people every time that say something that someone somewhere may find offensive. Wait a minute - GTDawg is a batboy for the Atlanta BRAVES! Well, there are plenty of American Indians who find that term offensive, so I guess I better ban him, right? Yeah, that's ridiculous. I'm not going to start censoring this forum, nor am I going to try to figure out where to draw the line between innocent comments and minor insults. If someone goes way, way over the line (meaning it's clear to everyone - everyone is offended), then I'll deal with it, just like I always have in the past. But I don't think I'm so high and mighty that I should get to decide what words are allowed and what ones aren't, just because someone out there finds them offensive. That's asking way too much of me, and would end up offending more people who are being censored than were offended by the "gay" comment in the first place. This is a lose-lose situation for me, see? I think posts like meloris' above are perfectly acceptable, although a PM would have served the same purpose (there are a number of members who have received PMs from me in the past about certain "language" that other people have complained to me about). I would like to think that over time, guys like JD will realize that even though they might mean no offense to the homosexual community by using words like "gay" and "fag" and whatever in a negative context, some of their peers here find them offensive, so hopefully they will refrain from using them in the future. But that's up to them as individuals. I'm simply not going to start censoring every single word that someone somewhere finds offensive. I can't. Edit: More "gay" reading material, for anyone who missed it (I see no need to recreate this same exact conversation over nad over again): Last edited by Talking Poker; 02-18-06 at 12:52 PM. |

I was playing in a tourney in which someone got caugt cheating, my reaction would be anger rather than sympathy. He was also pretty transparent about the whole thing, and shouldn't be keeping that kind of cash in poker accounts anyway.
What I found interesting was Party's comment that "Funds gathered by this deception will be refunded to the players that were affected." How will they go about this? Will anyone who played the tourney be entitled to ask them for a piece of the confiscation pie? |

Anyone who has ever played with him (JJ) in tournaments should be given back their buy-in for it. That would be a step in the right direction for Party to take.
